THE traditional ruler of Ugbenu, Igwe Lawrence Egwuonwu has called on the Igbos to be committed in exhibiting their culture and traditions to enhance its heritage.
Igwe Egwuonwu who spoke to the press in Awka on the imperatives of culture expects them to communicate to the upcoming generation the values of adopting their language and culture which give them the identity as people.
He stressed that the celebration of the new yam festival is a way of showcasing the Igbo culture.
The royal father announced that the Ugbenu community will celebrate with him the 2018 new yam festival in his palace at Ugbenu on 27th of October, 2018.
To this end, he expects the general public to be part of the culture attributes of ndi-igbo.
On the situation of major road at Ugbenu, Igwe Egwuonwu called for the competition of the Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu-Awba Ofemili road of for the easy movement of vehicles.
