KANWA of Katsina, District Head of Ketare, Usman Bello Kankara, has charged communities in the Northern region of the country to rise up for the development of their areas through communal efforts.
Alhaji Kankara made this statement shortly before laying a foundation stone for the construction of Community Day Secondary School in Katoge.
The monarch frowned at situations in the past when people would fold their arms and wait for government to do everything for them, noting that it’s very important for people to embark on self help projects.
He said the Community Day Secondary School initiated by communities of Katoge in Ketare district of Kankara Local Government Area is a rise up in support of the state government transformation agenda in the educational sector.
While commending the efforts of community of Katoge for initiating the project, Kankara assured support to any community in his district that embarked upon self help project through communal efforts.
The Kanwa of Katsina urged the management of the school to liaise with their counter parts at Tsamiyar Jino and Pawwa who have similar community schools for advice.
He called on parents and guardians to ensure they enroll their children and wards into schools and encourage girl child education to bridge the gap in feminine professions.
