New minimum wage: Labour takes final decision today

ORGANISED labour in Nigeria will take its final stand in a make-or-mar meeting in Lagos on new national minimum wage for workers slated for today.
President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, made this known in an interview with newsmen in Abuja yesterday, adding that the meeting was necessitated by Federal Government’s delay to announce its figure.
According to him, the struggle for a new minimum wage for workers was a course in which labour would not go back on its N30,000 request, adding that organised private sector has accepted it.
It will be recall that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, last week said there was no agreement yet by the Tripartite Committee on the new national minimum wage figure in the country.
