Anapusim subscribes community members to health insurance scheme

The Special Assistant on Political Matters to Governor Willie Obiano, Franklin Anapusim, has subscribed some members of his community to National Health Insurance Scheme, which entitles them to free medicare for one year.
This subscription, which started this month was announced in a convivium organized by the benefactor at Ukpor, the local government headquarter of Nnewi South Council Area of Anambra State.
Speaking at the event, the S.A. noted that the rationales behind the gesture were: to impact positively on the lives of the rural dwellers, to give back to the society, and assist people in the hinterland who cannot afford to pay for their medicare.
He said that he understood too well, the plights of the people in the rural area and what they are passing through in obtaining adequate medicare, given the high cost of drugs and other professional medical services in the country today; and therefore decided to give the little he has in incarcerating these challenges and ameliorating the condition.
The philanthropist, who hails from Umungwu Umuohama Ukpor, also lamented that sicknesses such as diabetes, High/Low blood pressure are usually among the silent killers threatening the health status of the rural dwellers, especially the disadvantaged and aged; even as he promised to launch another round of the scheme for another set of people next year at the expiration of the current one. Over twenty people are currently benefitting from the scheme.
