Nnabuife receives UNIZIK SUG Media Icon Award

STUDENT Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Tuesday, paid a visit to the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation, publishers of National Light Newspapers, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, to deliver a Media Icon Award.
According to Comrade Igwebuike Ikenna, the President of the body, the award came as a result of the just concluded 25th anniversary celebration of the Students Union Government which was a one-week programme that ended on 12th June 2018.
Because the programme was organized on a short notice, he said, there was therefore not enough time to reach out with the invitation to all the awardees, so they were not able to properly invite the Managing Director of National Light to the programme which was is why they decided to come to the office to deliver the award.
The Managing Director in appreciation of the award, said that he was humbled by the fact that the Students’ Union Government considered him for such award and said that the award acts as a spur to him, so that whenever he is doing his job or conducting himself in the public, he will always know and remember that there are people who might be watching him.
He said that he was impressed by the way the students conducted themselves and also acknowledged the fact that whatever they thought that he had achieved in the office, would not have been possible without the help of the staff of the corporation. According to him, “Not that we don’t have our problems, but these people have helped get the best of me and the best of this organization so far”.
He told them to always remember that they will leave a legacy, even at the price of sacrificing their convenience.
Giving a vote of thanks, on behalf of the body, Nwogbo Miracle, a presenter from Kampuz Tv, thanked the Managing Director and the staff of the organization present for the way the organization received them, and appreciated the harmonious environment that they met and then urged the staff to continue to support the Managing Director, because as the tree needs it’s branches, so does the Managing Director need the support of the staff.
