ANAMBRA State has participated in the 13th Abuja International Trade Fair recently, at Lugbe, Abuja International Trade Fair Complex.
The Trade Fair offered unrivaled opportunities for business development as well as a platform for Ndi Anambra to showcase their latest innovations in products and services.
The fair attracted government functionaries, industrialists and the business community in Anambra State as represented by various sectors of the Organised Private Sector (OPS).
The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Enhancing SMEs in Agribusiness through Innovative Technology.’ According to the President of Abuja Chamber and Industry, Prince Adettokunbo Kayode, in an address to Anambra business community on the occasion of Anambra State Special Day, held at Dele Oye Hall, International Trade Fair Complex, Abuja, recently, the theme is crafted in pursuance to the federal government vision in divserfying the economy from being a mono economy with total dependence on oil to other sectors most especially agribusiness.
The President, represented by Vice President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Johnson Anene, commended the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, and the people of the state for demonstrating that doing business in Nigeria is good business. He added “Anambra has set the pace in several areas including the famous Nnewi spare parts business, economic empowerment and of course, poverty alleviation among its people.”
Still on the theme of this year’s trade fair, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Anambra State, Christian Madubuko, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Daniel Chibueze Okoli,
stated that the theme is in tandem with what the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, is doing to promote agricultural value chain and food security in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
He therefore stressed that Anambra State remains the commercial nerve centre and the industrial hub of the nation and extolled the state government for intense efforts in promoting the state in the area of investment opportunities in industry.
A wide range of products that was displayed an Anambra Pavilion during the fair include mineral deposits, clay and kaolin, Pyrite Natural Gas Petroleum, Sandstones (S1S2), Iron stone, Reignite and Bentonite;
Anambra rice; a special breed of orange, fleshed sweet potatoes, range of vehicles from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited, Cables and wires from Cutix PLC; pyrolysis and bitter leaf washing machines from young innovators in Anambra.
Others include special designed wears (Western and native collections), authentic natural products (body and hair creams) art gallery (drawing, paintings), skill acquisition college (displayed hats, turbans, souvenirs, beads, soaps).
