FOUR new commissioners and a Special Adviser have been sworn into office by Governor Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom State.
They include Honourable Udo Ekpenyong, Uno Etim Uno, Prince Ukpong Akpabio; brother to the former governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Otuekong Raphael Bassey and Pastor Sunny Ibuot.
The appointment of the new commissioners and a special adviser into the state executive council as well as the posting to respective ministries and Bureau is coming one week after they were screened and ratified by the state House of Assembly.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem and made available to newsmen at the weekend, Prince Akpabio is posted as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Uno Etim Uno as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and Otuekong Raphael Bassey, Commissioner for Housing.
Others include, Hon. Udo Ekpenyong a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs who retained his former ministry, while Pastor Sunny Ibuot is Special Adviser, Bureau of Political/Legislative and Water Resources.
By the cabinet reshuffle, Ekong Sampson, who was S.A on Political/Legislative Affairs and Water Resources is moved to Economic Development, Labour and Manpower Planning Ministry as the new commissioner. However other cabinet members retained their portfolios.
