Gunmen raid police station, kill two officers in Delta



DELTA State Police command has confirmed the raid of a Delta State Police station where two police officers were killed,while others sustained serious gun wounds by suspected gunmen in Aboh.
The gunmen, suspected to be pirates in Army Uniform, weekend, invaded Aboh Police Divisional Headquarters in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State and shot dead two police officers.
Delta State Police Public Relations officer, Andrew Aniamaka, confirming the incident, stated that the pirates killed two police officers stressing that investigation is on-going.
National Light gathered that the gunmen arrived the community in the early hours of Saturday, immediately started shooting sporadically on officers before carting off ammunition.
Our source stated that the police were taken unawares by the attackers. “One of the police officers died on the spot and the other died on the way to hospital while the injured are receiving treatment in the hospital”.
“The gunmen made away with ammunition at the police station. A female police officer in mufti ,who was at the gate of the police station, escaped unhurt after she told the gunmen that she was a flood victim who came to seek refuge at the police station.”
Our source further stated that the gunmen also went to Marine Police Station, where they carted away w patrol engine boat after they chased the police officers out.
