NDE: Minister gives training starter packs to A’Ibom indigenes



MINISTER of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, has urged beneficiaries of the first phase of empowerment programme of youths trained in cosmetology to take full advantage of the opportunity to become self-reliant.
The training programme done in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) also fetched the participant’s starter-packs for their businesses.
Senator Udoma gave the charge in his country-home Ikot Abasi Local Government Area during the disbursement of cash and equipment to 140 cosmetology graduates of Mega basic national open-apprentiship scheme of the National Directorate of Employment.
Senator Udoma, represented by Elder Archibong Umoh, commended the management of the NDE for packaging the training which cuts across Eket Senatorial District and beyond the state.
Earlier in his speech, the state Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment, Promise Eka, thanked the complimentary role of Senator Udoma for deeming it fit to train the beneficiaries, as well as empower them with starter pack.
The coordinator further said that the scheme had since 1986 been in the forefront of the fight against unemployment hence had designed various programmes and strategies which have been implemented.
