Anambra is Light of the Nation indeed – Adaobi Akabuogu

ANAMBRA State has indeed transformed from fears to feats. There are more changes in the state now unlike before.
The old Anambra State with capital in Enugu was recreated on 27th August, 1991, by the then Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, with Awka as its new state capital.
Anambra State then was just like a thick forest that needs to be cleared. The first elected governor of the state could not do much because of some circumstances beyond his control.
Ngige came and did the much he could but was later stopped by powerful forces who succeeded in removing him from office. Peter Obi came and took Anambra State to an unprecedented level of development. Chief Willie Obiano came and continued the development, putting street lights and indeed broke what appears to be a problem which had trailed the political trajectory of the state. Today, Anambra State could proudly be seen and called the Light of the Nation.
