Enugu State command of the Nigeria police Force has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assassination of 105 year old man, Chief Eze Nwah Onuh.
According to a release by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amarize, Chief Onuh was murdered on August 9, 2018, at his residence in of Ekposhi Umuidoko, Ogurute in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. The case being handled by the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department has commenced in a full scale investigations.
It was gathered that on that fateful day, some suspects identified as: Onyeka Abugu , 22 years, Ogbonna Eze, 22 years and Nnamdi Eze, 19 years, allegedly conspired and strangled the deceased to death over a yet to be established motive. However, they escaped arrest but were later arrested through intelligence information. The suspects are now helping the operatives in their investigations while the body of the deceased was deposited in an unnamed hospital mortuary.
The Police Public Relations Officer however, promised that the suspects would be taken to court as soon as investigations are completed
