Mbosi Development Union elects new exco
A10-Member executive of the Mbosi Development Union Women’s Wing has been elected with Lady Njideka Obi from the Enugu na Umuzu Village (Isu Mbosi) in Mbosi, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State emerging as the President General.
Mrs. Bene Nwadinigwe also emerged as auditor, among others.
Speaking during the occasion, the Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs represented by the Women Development Officer in Ihiala Local Government Council headquarters, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Madu expressed gratitude in the smooth conduct of the town union election which produced other members of the executive.
Mrs. Madu expects the new executive to be above board in justifying their elections.
The president general of the Mbosi Development Union, Engineer George Obizulike described the election as cordial and acceptable and charged the newly elected officers of the development union to work closely with their male counterparts to move the Mbosi Community forward.
In a remark, the immediate past president general of the Mbosi Development Union women’s wing, Mrs. Agatha Nwachukwu (Ochinanwata) expressed joy in her service to the Mbosi Community and pledged to be there for the new executive of the Women’s wing when called upon for their advice.
Mrs. Nwachukwu who is the President All Saints Cathloic Parish Mbosi C.W.O. expects them to discharge their duties to promote the socio-economic development of the Mbosi town.
In her acceptance speech, the new president, Lady Njideka promised to give her best to the development of the Mbosi town.
The president asked for the cooperation of the Mbosi community and the women in particular to discharge her duties creditably.
Speaking on Mbosi development, a member of the Catholic Women Organisation, St Patricks Catholic Parish Mbosi, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Adiole appreciated the efforts of governor Willie Obiano and his wife Ebelechukwu in providing succor to the needy and the less privileged in the state.
Mrs. Adiole appealed to the governor’s wife to assist the Mbosi Women in establishing a skills acquisition centre.
On her part, another C.W.O. member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish Mbossi based in Lagos, Lolu Augusta Adiole also commended governor Obiano and the wife Ebelechukwu for their humanitarian disposition and asked for the development of the market in Mbosi and the building of a skills acquisition centre for women.
