Anambra IPMAN calls off strike



INDEPENDENT Petroleum Product Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Anambra State Chapter, has resolved that its members would call off their one-day solidarity strike today.
Commissioner for Public Utilities and Domestic Water Development, Obi Nwankwo, announced this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting held at the Department of State Services (DSS), Headquarters, Awka, which had Mr. Primus Odili, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Willie Obiano, as leader of Anambra Government Delegation.
“Both sides (Government and IPMAN) have agreed that within three weeks of this agreement,
they will form a joint committee to discuss in details the issue of compensation and relocation of the two filling stations, around which the strike revolves.”
It will be recalled that IPMAN embarked on one-day solidarity strike in Anambra, that touched on normal economic activities, over in their members whose filling stations were removed in Awka and Onitsha without compensation, because they were built at wrong locations.
