THE Parish Priest of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, G.R.A, Agu-Awka, Rev. Fr. Anthony Akabogu and the executive members of the parish choir, had made a formal presentation of the musical instruments newly acquired by the parish choir to the parishioners.
At the event held recently at the church premises, the parish priest who was represented by Reverend Fr Andrew Ibeazo said the instruments were purchased from the money realized during the Christmas carol of Nine Lessons organized by the parish in December (2017).
Speaking at the occasion, one of the patrons of the choir and the Managing Director, National Light Newspapers, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, thanked all those who contributed to the purchase of the instruments.
He thanked especially the Director, State Security Service, Anambra State, Yusuf Ishiaku, former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Paulinus Onyeka and other donors who were not present.
In his words, “I want to thank immensely, the congregation, and all those who made donations, especially, the patrons who with eagerness up-rooted hairs to make sure St Thomas Aquinas choir procures these instruments”.
In a brief remark, chairman of the choir, Mr Jude Okoye thanked the donor. He said the instruments would enhance the performance of the Parish Choir. The chairman also promised that St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Choir will continue to move from strength to strength.
The instruments presented were power amplifier, sets of speakers, a set of Yamaha PSR 975 organ, Saxophone, a pair of Violin, a pair of Clarinet, a set of trumpet, digital mixer, two pairs of microphone stands, Bass guitar, lead guitar. Digital microphone, sets of local instruments and sets of microphones.
