Uncertainty beclouds Okorocha son inlaw succession

DUE to the outcome of the just concluded APC Congress in Imo State, people have started making a rethink over their support of the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorochas on the governorship ambition of his son-inlaw, Chief Uche Nwosu, This, according to the news source, must not be unconnected with the uncertainty beclouding what may have become the helmsman’s further impression on the said ambition.

Before now, it could be recalled, that Governor, Rochas Okorocha has not relented in informing the public that irrespective of Uche Nwosu being in-law, he has found him worthy to succeed him as the next Imo Governor.

Okorocha has hitherto gathered strong opposition whenever he mentions the governorship ambition of Uche Nwosu. Some of the governor’s stiff opposition said that if Uche Nwosu becomes Imo next governor, it will amount to Rochas staying in office for the third term, which according to them contravenes the charter of equity and fair play.

APC stalwart who pleaded anonymity said that even forces from the APC head-quarters in Abuja are opposed to such replication. According to the source, Okorocha’s rush to president, Buhari in Duara to get any possible remedy has opened a new frontier in the on who succeeds Governor Okorocha, come 2019.

However, political book-makers in the state are of the opinion that the ambition of the governor would alternatively choose from Okigwe zone, preferably Chike Okafor, Acho Ihim and Prof. Nnamdi Obireari.

The move, according to the source was not only to retain both relevance and grip in the government but to scatter the opposition and ensure they do not achieve their aim.
