Kidnap kingpin killed by soldiers in A’Ibom

ANOTHER Kingpin of a kidnap and murder gang that has been terrorising Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo Communities in Akwa Ibom State has been shot dead by soldiers.


Our crime correspondent gathered that the kingpin, Item Ebehe, popularly known as Stainless was killed by security operatives in the early hours of Tuesday.


A close source who did not want his name on print disclosed to our reporter that Stainless was apprehended last Monday by some indigenes of the area who later handed him over to the military in whose hands he met his waterloo.


He hinted that the notorious Stainless was behind the recent killing of a father of three and one Chief Eno David in the area.

The source hinted that the suspect was arrested on his way to a meeting with his gang members, adding that other members of the gang escaped arrest.


The Assistant Director, Public Relations 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Major Uman Shuaib could not be reached for comment on the matter.


Stainless according to a source from the area, was second in command to Akaninyene Jumbo, known as Akpafid, who was killed few months ago by the military also in the area.
