A new Oluoha has been capped and crowned in Ihiala.
He is Oluoha Azuka Alagwu Oluoha XVII of Ihiala, and clan Head of Ihiala.
His selection and crowning was purely in accordance with the custom and tradition of Ihiala, and the constitution and code of conduct of Oluoha Ihiala.
The Okparas of the 7 villages of Dioha Royal family, Umuelekechem, Umunebogbu, Umumelike and Umuadobihi, as well as Umuilogbueghu, Umuabalike and Umuezeogu solely, vested with the authority to select Oluoha once the need arises, converged and after performing all necessary rites and following all due process, selected a worthy son of Dioha Royal family, Azuka Alagwu as the Oluoha XVII of Ihiala.
After this, the Okparaukwu Umudara who has the sole authority to crown Oluoha in Ihiala, after certifying the selection process quite proper, then crowned Oluoha Azuka Alagwu as the Oluoha XVII of Ihiala.
The Ihiala community wishes to thank His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, Akpokuedike Global, Ebubedike Ndigbo for his good wishes to the community and his prayer for a peaceful transition.
They also expressed their gratitude to him for appointing their sons Mr C. Don Adinuba as Commissioner for information, and Chief Ifeanyichukwu Odimegwu as Chairman Ihiala Local Government.
Ndi Ogbuehi, ndi-Ichie and Ezeala Dike graced the important occassion.
They pledged their solidarity and unalloyed support and loyalty to his administration.
