The governor gave the directive while inspecting ongoing construction of Ajalli-Nawfija Road.
The 21 km road network cut across Akpu-Nawfija-Ajalli-Ufuma-Ogbunka in Orumba North and South.
While inspecting the project, Gov. Obiano expressed satisfaction at the level of works already accomplished.
He assured them that the 3 km road would be asphalted before the next rainy season.
Obiano said that the road was awarded in 2017 and that he had mobilised every contractor handling different road projects across the state.
“All our roads should be completed with full compliments of standard roads.
“When completed, it will give brighter prospects for agricultural revolution in the state.
“Our dream is to make Anambra the food basket of the nation,” he said.
The governor commended the community for their cooperation with the contractor, urging them to sustain the support to enable the contractor to deliver the project on schedule.
The Commissioner for Road Infrastructure, Furniture and Maintenance, Chief Law Chinwuba noted that Government had hired competent firms to execute projects.
In a remark, a former Chairman, Orumba South Council Area, John Onyeakpa noted that the road would be a by-pass to Umunze Junction, especially during festivities.
Mr. Onyeakpa commended Obiano for constructing the road and enjoined the community to help in maintaining the facility through cleaning of water channel.
Dr Maduka Nwankwo, a stakeholder from Nawfija said construction of the road would make it easier for farmers in Orumba North and South to evacuate their farm produce.
