AN APGA Chieftain in Ekwulumili Community, , Nnewi South Local Government Area, Ebenezer Okoli have appealed to Gov. Willie Obiano to construct new roads in the community.
By Onah Paulinus
Chief Okoli made the appeal while appraising the performance of Governor Obiano over the last four years of his first term.
“I appeal to Anambra State Government to include Ekwulumili among communities to benefit from the next phase of road construction. No single road has been constructed in Ekwulumili by previous administrations”.
Okoli said the community deserve good roads because they massively voted for Obiano during the last governorship election in the state.
He lamented that the community had not benefitted from successive governments, except the N20 million communities ‘choose your project initiative,’ extended to every community in the state.
Okoli said the people of the community expected that Gov. Obiano would remember them during his second term in office, to end years of neglect and marginalisation.
He, however, commended him for his prudent management of the state meagre resources and praised his prompt payment of salaries and pensions, investments in agriculture, trade and commerce, and revamping of the health and education sectors.
Okoli, then, appealed to the governor to upgrade the Ekwulumili Community Hospital to a general hospital in order to stem occurrence of preventable deaths of people and pregnant women.
