It is a common belief that prophecies are messages inspired by God, a divine revelation, which are sometimes given to prophets to convey to the people for them to know the direction to follow in life. For years, some clergies have been consistent in delivering God’s messages to the people every year. Here are some prophecies for year 2018 as compiled by STELLA OBI and EMEKA CHIAGHANAM

THE founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele,  in his 2018 prophesies said that Nigeria needed spiritual cleansing. According to him there will be progress and prosperity for the nation if it is spiritually cleansed.  He said there would be a referendum which would lead to reforms as the issue of agitators must be taken seriously by government. He called on Nigerians to pray against religious crises and unnecessary killings.

On politics the Primate prophesied that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), may bounce back to have reckoning if the party returns to God and do spiritual cleansing adding that the party should get the right leader that will re-organise it. Primate Ayodele said the All Progressive Party (APC), must be careful because there will be controversy and dangers surrounding it. The Prophet cautioned some state governors and political big wigs in the country to be mindful of their political intensions in 2018.

For the Energy Sector, the Primate prophesied problems saying that power expatriates will have issues.

He said that there would be bridge of contract and mismanagement in the Power Sector. Prophet Ayodele foresaw that power will be stable in 2018 if government leaves up to expectation.

On the economy of Nigeria, he said the country would still be faced with challenges if they failed to do the right thing. “The economy will still fluctuate and the country will still be having economy hardship because the prices of food will remain the same. The clergyman also said Nigerians should pray against scarcity of food commodity in the country​.

The prophecies read​:​ “Bread ​wil​l be scarce in the country, even garri. Some markets will be shut down, and let’s pray against explosion in some markets. I foresee that Dollar will still fluctuate. The government must take the right step to fight the economic problem. President Buhari must take cognizance of what is wrong to balance the economy,” he noted.

In the area of financial institutions the Prophet noted that there will be changes and challenges in CBN. According to him, some banks will be sanctioned in non compliance to the CBN promptly and pay fine as there will be query of some forex transactions. He called on Nigerians to pray to rebuke the cases of the outbreak of fire in any of our banks.

In the Judiciary Sector, Prophet Ayodele foresees the refurbishment of courts. According to him, some states in the South West will have new Judges. He mentioned that the Attorney-General of the Federation/the Minister of Justice should pray for victory and God’s protection as he will face some political troubles. He must watch his steps. Let us pray fervently to rebuke fire incident in his office. Let us pray to rebuke death among past Minister of Justice. Let us pray for God’s protection on all the SANS. Let us pray so that our court will not be engulfed by fire.

Meanwhile, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has prophesied hope for Nigeria in 2018.

Speaking at the Crossover Service at the Redemption Camp, Lagos, Adeboye prophesied that there would be rays of hope that all would still be well.

The man of God also prophesied that significant Goliath would fall this year and that erstwhile stubborn mountains would move before the children of God.

On the international scene, Adeboye said there would be less fire outbreaks, but more floods globally.

He also prophesied that there would be misunderstandings among nations of the world, but said there would be no war, while calling for prayers against assassination attempts globally.

Adeboye also mentioned that there will be record breaking temperatures both high and low and a handful of breakthroughs, both scientific and medical.

On the individual level, the man of God said “many people will wake up to realise that their future is not in the hands of any government, a lot of lost grounds will be reclaimed. Saboteurs will be disgraced and dismissed.”

In his prophesy for year 2018, Prophet Anene Nwachukwu of Rhema Deliverance Mission, Lagos, said there would be greater turmoil in the political arena in 2018, months before the 2019 general elections.

He also urged older politicians that have dominated Nigeria’s political space for long to vacate the space for the younger generation with fresh ideas to move the country forward.

“There will be serious political crises. The National Assembly will be at loggerheads with the presidency and vice versa. There will be a lot of intra and inter-party squabbles.

“Nigerians must pray hard to avert the confusion and its dire consequences.

“We need young men with fresh ideas to carry the youths along. Good people are afraid to come into politics because evil people have occupied the space and frustrated genuine people.

“The older politicians should retire and give the youth a chance to rebuild the country. Nevertheless, we will keep praying for God to sanitise the nation and make Nigeria what it should be,” he said

According to the prophet we will witness a better Nigeria in 2018. However, we must pray seriously.

Also, President and founder of the Excellent Christian Ministry Int’l Inc, Apostle Ogochukwu Amaukwu, in his 2018 prophecies for Nigeria divided the prophecies into three namely : individual; National; and the world.

He said the threat to divide the country would continue and become more aggressive. Prophet Amaukwu’s prophesy include; fresh economic reforms to stabilise the economy and Naira, government will deliberately fight the church with policies and actions, Police Force given attention to fight corruption, Nigerian military will have huge success in their quest to combating terrorism, massive importation and exportation of harmful drugs will be discovered, Kidnappers dens, kidnappers, church shrines, kingpins, cultists and their sponsors will be heavily caught and exposed while Investors in real estates, agriculture, electronics and marketing shall have high sales this year. He called on Nigerians to pray against genocide in the country,bomb explosions and tribal conflicts, devastating fire outbreaks and mysterious floods, ceaseless tanker explosions and for Nollywood actors and actresses.

In his year 2018 prophecy the Prophet of Living Seed Ministries, Umuahia, Chisom Ekwonna called on Nigerians to be prayerful. He noted that the country will face a lot of challenges but with prayers, the country will overcome some of them.  He said the All Progressive Congress should put the party in order to avert crisis. In his prophecy, he said 2018 would witness a lot of kidnappings and political assassination.  According to his prophecy, some banks and telecommunication providers will lay off some of their workers, there will be attacks from herdsmen, many Nigerians will be deported from abroad and Biafra agitators will bounce back.

Founder and Senior Pastor of the Omega Fire Ministry, Auchi, Apostle Johnson Suleman, in his prophecy talked about Nigerian economy and series of bombing that will occur in the country. Suleman foresees Nigeria’s economy getting better in 2018 and Political blackmail to be on the rise. He prophesied that new strategies of killing perceived political enemies in Nigeria will arise.

Apostle Suleman also prophesied that many bloggers would be arrested and jailed, Church buildings collapse, 2018 budget, Senate and presidency lockjam. Year 2018 will be year of the Army having much military presence and control, the naira gaining relevance, herdsmen attacks.

There will be bombings in United Kingdom one considered to be the biggest in history, bombings in Egypt, America, Canada, Asia, to experience hurricanes, wildfire outbreak in an American state.  He said that God will give people good health and there will be cure to incurable diseases.

He called on Nigeria to pray against air crash, train accident, NAFDAC to pray against fire disaster.

The General Overseer of Freedom For all Nations Outreach (FANO) Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse‎ of South Africa, who was reported to have accurately predicted that Mugabe would be dethroned precisely in November 2017, said Zimbabwe would encounter economic change. Investors from all around the world including South Africa will flood Zimbabwe.

Akinbodunse, whose prophecy annually centre on the international scene saw President Donald Trump of the United States implementing policies that will bring more biblical prophecies to pass and urged Christians to pray against a Muslim Extremist attack targeted at America from manifesting in the month between April and May as well pray against rally to impeach Trump.

In Nigeria rather than perennial man made crisis, Niger Delta and Maiduguri will experience natural disasters. South African.

He said must pray against natural disasters in the following areas: Western Cape, Johannesburg, Northern Cape, Kwazulu Natal, and some parts of the Free State, while a popular man of God in Nigeria will be called home.

General Overseer of Prophetic Prayer Ministries International and a former chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ikeja chapter, Bishop Theophilus Ajose, in his prophecy for the year, concerning President Muhammadu Buhari, urged Buhari to pray against food poisoning and betrayal from APC stalwarts.

According to Ajose, for former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, “2018 look bright and rewarding for the political proverbial cat with nine lives and the PDP Presidential hopeful. There shall be a major threat to his life, and some unholy disclosures concerning him shall bring a temporary setback to his political ambition.

“He will reach out to his former political foes and build bridges of goodwill in an attempt to stabilise his political base. He must watch his health very seriously and the “medication” he receives which may be poison in disguise.”

The cleric added that, “Two of Nigeria’s elder statesmen shall “go home” in 2018. The world and the nation shall miss them. A great world leader shall die in the first half of 2018. A governor shall be impeached in the second half of the year.

“There are going to be climatic and environmental changes of great immense proportion in 2018. The effect of the degradation of the ozone layer is to be felt on the earth more than ever before.

“The world will witness natural disaster in 2018 more than ever that many cities, states and even two sovereign nations shall be wiped off the map of the world due to earthquakes, storms and hurricanes. For the first time, some African nations shall experience earthquakes and natural disasters beyond the ordinary.

The Founder of the Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministries International, Abuja, Prophet Emmanuel Omale, in  his prophetic declaration for 2018 saw a violent but brief resurgence of Boko Haram activities around the months of March to June, and it will be finally defeated.

According to him, a Governor from the North West requires serious prayers to avert death from kidney and liver related ailments, security agencies, and the public should be vigilant against terrorist intentions on filling stations and other fuel depots. Omale asked for prayers in the past for Kaduna, Taraba, Benue, and Plateau states. We must continuously hold them in prayer vigil, to avert more bloodshed that could last for 14 days.
