ADVANCED Congress of Democrats (ACD) candidate for the this month’s Anambra Central Senatorial re-run election, Oby Kate Okafor, has reiterated her preparedness for the election which she hopes to clinch she disclosed this in a interview with National Light.
Okafor said she didn’t want anything to stall the election as the previous one. “To be honest with you, I am tired of everything called court case. My wish is that the election will come and pass.
Let the peoples will prevail. I have spent a lot of money concerning this issue and likewise other contestants.
She said she was much prepared to slug it with other contestants “I am much prepared and hoping to win. You can see my posters in all the nooks and crannies of the state. I went to INEC Monday. They said election must hold unless there was any counter from other angles. I have submitted my agent list to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and waiting for my agent task to be given to me.
On how much faith she has on INEC conduct a credible election, “INEC is very prepared. Like I said, the last time I was there, they assured me of a credible election and that is what the people of the senatorial zone should expect in the forth-coming election.
Okafor debunked the insinuation in some quarters that her party is new, saying that new parties don’t enjoy currency like older ones, “the party is older the All peoples Congress (APC) the party has been in existence for a long time, it is as old as PDP. It is because of the way People had been handling it before. Since I became the chairman people have come to identify with the party, making it more popular. I can assure you that ACD will sweep the election in the local governments of the senatorial zone.
She identified her major challenge for the election as finance, “I have been battling with it, but must overcome it, it is part of the process.”
Okafor urged ndi Anambra to come out and vote for ACD as the party promises of better representation for the people of the senatorial zone.
